Paul Cott

Paul Cott studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Richard Bissill, Jonathan Lipton and Jeffrey Bryant, graduating in 2007. The following year he was a member of Southbank Sinfonia, with whom he appeared as a soloist in Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante. Since then he has appeared with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Symphony, Philharmonic and Concert orchestras, the Philharmonia, London Symphony Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra and the Royal Ballet Sinfonia, among others. He has also worked with the London Jazz Orchestra, at the National Theatre and with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Paul is a founder member of the Berkeley Ensemble, with whom he has released five CDs including première recordings of works by Lennox and Michael Berkeley, Charles Wood and John Casken. Their recording of Lennox Berkeley’s Stabat Mater was shortlisted for a Gramophone Magazine award in 2017.
