The Havering Concert Orchestra marked its and Havering’s 60th anniversary with a celebratory concert at Frances Bardsley Academy on Saturday, 22nd November 2025. The event featured a programme of beloved classics, including Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, Ravel, Bizet, and Johann Strauss II.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of flowers to the
Orchestra’s longest-serving member, Joan Luck, by The Mayor of Havering, Councillor Sue Ospreay. Joan joined the Orchestra in 1961, before the London Borough of Havering was even formed, and she continues to perform today. At the 60th Celebration Concert, she played the celeste.
The concert was also attended by the Mayoress of Havering, Sharon Sutton, the MP for Dagenham and Rainham, Margaret Mullane, and Councillors Gillian and Oscar Ford, who joined in celebrating this special milestone.
