Havering Concert Orchestra

The Mayor and Mayoress of Havering, the local MP Margaret Mullane and Councillors Gillian and Oscar Ford will be attending Havering Concert Orchestra’s Concert to celebrate 60 years of Havering and of the Orchestra.

The Mayor of Havering, Councillor Sue Ospreay

For this special 60th Anniversary Concert, they will revisit Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, which was performed to mark their 50th Anniversary. The programme also features Bizet’s L’Arlésienne Suite – marking 150 years since his death – and Ravel’s enchanting Mother Goose Suite, celebrating 150 years since his birth.

The Orchestra’s Chairman, Graeme Wright, commented: “It’s a tremendous honour to have the Mayor, Mayoress, our local Councillors, and MP joining us for this historic occasion. We have been bringing classical music to the area since 1935, and we are particularly proud to mark six decades of music-making as the Havering Concert Orchestra since the London Borough of Havering was formed in 1965.”
