Gift Aid
Make your gift to Havaering Concert Orchestra worth even more with Gift Aid – at no extra cost to you
By making a Gift Aid declaration we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate, making your gifts worth even more. All of your donations, membership subscriptions to HCO can be increased by 25% at no extra cost to you, through the UK government’s Gift Aid scheme. All you have to do is declare your eligibility as a UK taxpayer by checking the box on the Gift Aid Declaration page. As a registered charity (no. 1076663), HCO can then reclaim the basic rate tax on your gifts.
Who is eligible to make a Gift Aid declaration?
For your donations to be eligible for Gift Aid you must be a UK taxpayer and pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax for each tax year (6 April one year to 5 April the next) that is at least equal to the tax that all charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) reclaim on your donations in the same tax year. Other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify.
If you are a higher rate taxpayer don’t forget to add you Donation to the Gift Aid Payments section, it raises your thresholed and the Government adds 25% too! You could even afford to donate more!
How does Gift Aid help HCO and benefit you as a donor?
HCO is a registered charity and the money we raise from Gift Aid makes a valuable difference to our work in maintaining the standard of all our artistic programmes. If you pay tax at the higher rate you can benefit too and claim further tax relief on your Self Assessment tax form. Further information is available on the HMRC website.
