Ian Ryan Piano
Born in Romford and a former pupil of Upminster Junior School, Ian started playing the piano at the age of five. By the age of nine, his musical achievements already included winning a prize in the Havering Junior Musician. Since then, he has taken part in various other competitions such as Audi Junior Musician and the East London Music Festival.This is Ian's third appearance with the orchestra, having originally made his debut with them at the age of twelve, when he played Haydn's Piano Concerto in D major.As well as his outstanding ability as a pianist, Ian is also very proficient on the saxophone and clarinet. This summer he will take his LSRM diploma on the clarinet, having already attained an A-level in music at "A" grade by the age of sixteen. Recent performances include an appearance at Lake Meadows in Billericay, as a soloist with the Brentwood Philharmonic Orchestra and also with his jazz trio, where much of his musical interest now lies. He is also the accompanist of the Billericay Choral Society and a teacher on each of his instruments. In between musical commitments, Ian still finds time to indulge in his other hobbies, notably snooker and pool. |
